Max Horne Saline Jaguar 1970 Series 2 E-Type

A completely original model with only 65000 miles. This wonderful example is exactly as it came from the factory all those years ago and is completely original, no respray, changed interior or even brakes. Max has owned this car for 14 years and it is only brought out on sunny days from April until October.

The 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 is a refined, classic British sports car produced between 1968 and 1971, featuring a 4.2-litre straight-six engine, improved cooling, better brakes, and open headlights. Available as an open two-seater, fixed-head coupe, or 2+2, it blended 1960s style with enhanced safety and usability.

Key Features and 1970 Specifics:

  • Design Changes: The 1970 model (part of the 1968–1971 run) features a larger front "mouth" for better cooling, no glass headlight covers, larger taillights below the bumper, and wrap-around bumpers.

  • Performance: Powered by the 4.2-liter XK engine. UK models typically used triple SU carburettors, while US models were equipped with twin Stromberg units.

  • Interior & Safety: Features include a redesigned dashboard with rocker switches, steering column improvements, and optional power steering or air conditioning.

  • Variants: The 1970 lineup included the Roadster (OTS), Fixed Head Coupe (FHC), and the 2+2.
