The Perthshire Classic Car Tour 2022 was held on Sunday 24 April 2022, organised by the Rotary Clubs of Perth and Blairgowrie. 86 classic cars assembled at McDiarmid Park Perth, home of St Johnstone Football Club, from 7.30am onwards, before being flagged off at 9.30am by Denis Melloy, Provost of Perth & Kinross, and Rotary Club of Perth President, Joe Cairns from a podium at McDiarmid Park.
There was an opportunity for spectators to view the cars and watch them drive off from the stadium, before journeying north through rural Perthshire along the banks of Loch Tay and through Glencoe to the Inns of Glencoe Hotel where the cars stopped for a sandwich lunch, and in some cases a refill of petrol. The return route was south through Glencoe and along Loch Earn and through Comrie before finishing at Crieff Hydro Hotel at around 5pm, where the various awards were presented by both the Provost and Lord Lieutenant at a Light Dinner for the participants.
An auction and raffle were also held at the hotel, which helped add to an already successful charity fundraiser. Both the Duke of Kent, and Prince Michael of Kent participated in the event, along with many well known car enthusiasts. The weather this year was perfect and made for a spectacular day out for all.
